Education minister Angie Motshekga announced this week that the matric results for the class of 2022 will be announced on 19 January 2023 and distributed by schools and exam centres on 20 January.
In a statement made by the Education Department it is stated that matriculants can collect their results at the centre where they wrote their papers.
Pupils can get their original statement of results from 20 January.
“The Department of Basic Education is currently processing the results for the MATRIC CLASS OF 2022. When the results are released, we urge you to collect your results at the centre where you sat for your 2022 National Senior Certificate Examinations.”
The release of the results is often a challenging and depressing period for some students as they could face pressure from their families, but the department’s spokesperson, Elijah Mhlanga said, “There is nothing one can do other than to wait patiently for the day of results.”
Mhlanga encouraged students who frequently struggle with stress and anxiety to talk to anyone about how they are feeling or to get free professional help on managing stress and anxiety from the South African Depression and Anxiety Group.
