Convicted murderer, Pontsho Mahlanka has been found guilty after allegedly killing three children in 2020. Mahlanka, is said to have murdered, Mzwandile Zitho, 5, in April 2020, and the double murders of Simphiwe Mgcina, 6, and Mpho Makondo, 8, in September 2020.

Reports claim that Pontsho was arrested in Orange Farm, Johannesburg, when she was around 29-years- old back in 2020. Reports have also verified that she is originally from Lesotho or rather was a tavern owner when this took place.

“Pontsho didn’t show any remorse since the trial started. I believe she deserves three life sentences” says one of the family members of the deceased children.

Community members and leaders believe the accused had a helping hand during the murder of these children and would like more investigation to take place in order to be proven otherwise.

The families of these young children say they are beyond devastated and that the heartache has now surfaced. Dealing with the pain again now that she has been convicted and still having questions till now regarding the matter. They say these young children have been robbed off a brighter future as they had bigger dreams in store for them.

“Mpho has a bright future as he wanted to be a teacher when he grows up. So you can imagine he’s life being robbed at that tender age of 8 years” says a family member of Mpho.
