Raymond Mlaba Municipality hosted its annual employee sports games, turning the Wanderers Sports Ground into a lively arena of friendly rivalry. Staff from across departments battled for top honours in rugby, soccer, and netball. Moreover, councilors joined the action, adding excitement and encouraging unity.
Community Services delivered a clean sweep, winning in all three codes. Their strong teamwork, quick coordination, and field discipline set the pace. The event also broke workplace barriers, as colleagues who rarely interacted enjoyed a chance to compete side by side.
Official Response
Acting Mayor, Councilor Elton Bantam, applauded the event for strengthening employee wellness and workplace cohesion.
“This event brings our employees together in a way that transcends departmental boundaries,” said Councilor Bantam.
“When we compete together and celebrate together through sport, we strengthen the bonds that make our municipality function effectively.”
