The community is mourning the loss of Nkokheli “Volo” Twabu, who passed on in a serious crash on the N2 near King Shaka International Airport. The family later issued a public notice confirming his passing on the morning of 16 November 2025.
The Crash
At around 10am, emergency responders arrived at the scene after multiple WhatsApp traffic groups reported a rollover crash involving a single vehicle.
The vehicle had rolled several times while travelling northbound before coming to rest across the southbound lane.
Two patients with moderate to serious injuries were treated and transported under Advanced Life Support supervision.
Nkokheli “Volo” Twabu suffered fatal injuries and was declared deceased on scene. SAPS will conduct an investigation into the cause of the crash.
Family Announcement
Following the crash, the family issued a notice confirming the passing of Nkokheli “Volo” Twabu on the morning of 16 November 2025. The message expresses deep sadness and requests support and compassion during this difficult time.
The family will announce funeral and memorial details in due course.
