Queen Nobandla Sigcau appointment as the Caretaker of the Mpondo Kingdom in the interim

The Royal family has resolved that it will meet after the funeral service to discuss the succession of His Majesty the late King Zanozuko Tyelovuyo Sigcau.

His Majesty King Zanozuko Tyelovuyo Sigcau will be laid to rest on the 21 June 2022 at Ndimakude Great Place, Flagstaff, Eastern Cape. In the interim the core Royal family has resolved that Her Majesty Queen Nobandla Sigcau will be a caretaker of the Mpondo Kingdom.

According to a statement issued by AMAMPONDO KINGDOM on Monday, no Acting Kingship position has been endorsed by the core Royal family.

“All issues pertaining to the succession including Acting or Regency if it needs be, of the late His Majesty King Zanozuko Tyelovuyo Sigcau will be discussed by the relevant members of the Royal family in accordance to custom and the relevant applicable legislation after the funeral service.”

The Royal family will at this time focus on the logistics pertaining to the funeral arrangements of His Majesty the late King Zanozuko Sigcau. Today, the Royal family accompanied by other relevant stakeholders will repatriate the mortal remains of His Majesty in Durban where they lie and return them home to the Mpondo
Kingdom.
