On Monday evening, The African National Congress (ANC) in East London finally announced the winner of the chairman position in the Eastern Cape, Oscar Mabuyane was re-elected as the Province’s chairperson. Out of 1477 ballots counted, Mabuyane got 812 and Babalo Madikizela got 662.
On a Facebook post Babalo Madikizela congratulated the newly elected top 5, it reads “ Congratulations!! to the newly elected Eastern Cape ANC top 5. Abantu basajonge kwi-ANC to lead them to the promised land. Makuqhuz’uthuli”
It said that Mabuyane’s victory translates to more support for those that ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa wants to see rise come December.
Some members of the ANC are applauding Madikizela for trying his best some saying he has fought a good fight.
