In celebration of Women’s Month, Buffalo City Metro Traffic Services in the eQonce region held events aimed at empowering society at all levels.

The first event was an awareness outreach program at Nomhle Primary School in Dimbaza, educating children, teachers, and the broader community. The program featured motivational talks, and gifts including toiletries, sanitary towels, and clothes for less fortunate schoolgirls.

This was followed by an empowerment session for women in blue. Addressing traffic employees, Metro Portfolio Head for Public Safety and Emergency Services, Councillor Amanda Mnute, encouraged women to support one another, develop leadership skills, and uplift each other. She said, “As women, we encourage and love one another, grow and develop each other, support each other and be able to perfect each other’s crown.”

Advocate Boniswa Mzimba, Head of Public Safety and Emergency Services, reinforced the message of giving and support, referencing Proverbs 22:9 and Acts 20:35 to emphasize the importance of generosity. She urged women to make a positive difference, rise above challenges, and reject abuse and gender-based violence.

The events underscored the Metro’s commitment to celebrating women, promoting leadership, and fostering a caring and supportive community. Participants were encouraged to touch lives, uplift others, and create lasting positive impact in society.
