A 16 year old girl has been raped and has her eyes taken out at Cabazana, Emaxesibeni on 15 April 2022. It is alleged that Zandiswa Ntshamba was walking on a street when a man accosted her, dragged her to a nearby bush and stabbed her to a point of losing her sight after raping her.
She was found lying on a street in a pull of blood not knowing what to do. According to family spokesperson, Nomavuma Ntshamba they were called while out of province for work related purpose.
“We did not come back home for Easter holidays and while in Limpopo we were called and told that Zandiswa has been attacked and raped”.
She says they did not know that she was this brutalized as she lost her sight completely, alleging that she was stabbed in both her eyes.

She says they are so devastated by this incident.
Children’s rights activist from Khula development, Petros Majola says they have received with sadness the news and added that they have since worked around the clock with the police to locate and apprehend the perpetrator.
“We are working with police to find the suspect and we have since called for prioritization of this case” Adds Majola.
He says constitution of this country needs to be revisited since it has not yielded positive results in fighting against this thuggish behavior against young girls.
“Our government need to review and amend our constitution and place it where it will send a clear message to such perpetrators.
Police spokesperson in the Eastern Cape, Brig. Thembinkosi Kinana says they are investigating a case of rape and assault with grievous bodily harm.
