The Eastern Cape Office of the Premier, working with Statistics South Africa (Stats SA), is hosting a three-day training programme aimed at improving the province’s data reporting and monitoring systems through the Integrated Indicator Framework (IIF).
The training targets officials from the Research, Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation directorates across provincial government departments. It provides them with the skills to integrate and align provincial performance indicators with the national framework, ensuring accurate, efficient, and coordinated reporting.
The IIF project is designed to close information gaps, strengthen institutional capacity, and enhance the quality of statistical production. These improvements are expected to support evidence-based decision-making, enabling the provincial government to plan, monitor, and evaluate policies more effectively.
According to the Office of the Premier, this initiative forms part of a broader drive to improve governance, strengthen accountability, and ensure that planning and service delivery are guided by reliable and consistent data.
