Mayor Cllr Daniswa Mafumbatha of the Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Local Municipality officially handed over the contractor for the construction of the Ward 16 Community Hall at Mtayise village to XS Dollars.

The construction project, valued at R4,173,243.52, is expected to be completed within six months and will provide employment opportunities for 13 local workers. According to Mayor Mafumbatha,

“The new community hall will serve as a vibrant hub for social, cultural, and economic activities, providing a safe and accessible space for community members to gather, socialize, and participate in various activities.”

The completion of the Ward 16 Community Hall is anticipated to have a profound impact on the community, fostering social cohesion and community building. Furthermore, the project will contribute to job creation and skills development, ultimately benefiting the local economy. Mayor Mafumbatha emphasized,

“We are committed to delivering quality infrastructure and services to our residents.”

The Mayor also expressed gratitude to the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) for allowing the municipality to host its community meetings in their church for many years
