Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies secured a 1-0 victory over Sporting Club Casablanca, earning a spot in the CAF Women’s Champions League semifinals for the third straight year. Coach Jerry Tshabalala expressed delight, stating, “We are very happy with the way we have begun the tournament, and our performances have been impressive.” He emphasized the team’s goal, saying,
“We desire to get the ultimate prize, and everyone within the team is determined to achieve that objective.”
With qualification nearly assured, Coach Jerry highlighted the importance of the upcoming game against Athletico Abidjan:
“We are going to treat the game against them with all seriousness. They are the host side and they need a win at all costs, so we are not going to take the game lightly in any way.”
Nonhlanhla Mthandi praised the team’s tenacity, saying, “The game was far from easy… Overall, I am happy with the way we defended.” Boitumelo Rabale expressed relief, stating, “We are happy to be in the semifinals, and we are ready for the next game.”
Sundowns Ladies will face Athletico Abidjan in their final group game on November 11th at the Stade Amadou Gon Coulibaly in Korhogo, with kick-off set for 22:00 CAT.
