Pondoland Times sat down with Charmaine Hassein affectionately known as June from the Public Relations Office (PRO) and Aron Dlamini from the front office. To find out more about the experience of being part of the Wild Coast Sun team. They shared how impactful it has been to be part of the Hotel.

I have been working here for twenty-six years and I used to come here with my parents as a little girl. I never ever thought I would be working for Wild Coast Sun, but Wild Coast Sun has turned me into this strong lady that I am today, thank you Wild Coast. – Said June

June shared that the most memorable moment she’s had was the opening of the water park and she shared words of encouragement to prospective PRO workers by saying “every workplace has its challenges. Young people need to teach themselves patience and not take everything personally at work, it all comes with the job”

Aron says he has been working at the Wild Coast Sun for the past twelve years and that it is quite surreal for him because he grew up fishing at UMthamvuna River. He added that he doesn’t think his life would have turned the way it did if was not for the Wild Coast Sun.

Mr Dlamini says an added advantage is that he goes back home every day and he is not renting. He explains that being part of the Hotel has allowed him to groom people in the community and expose them to opportunities that are within the Wild Coast Sun. The front desk supervisor added that;

The Wild Coast Sun has added a lot of value in community development.
