Pondoland Times

Dear {name},

I hope this email finds you well. On behalf of the entire team at Pondoland Times, I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to each of you as you embark on your Work Integrated Learning (WIL) internship program with us. We are thrilled to have 35 talented individuals from Walter Sisulu University join our team, including 2 students specializing in Human Resources Management (HR) and the rest being Public Relations (PR) students.

As an award-winning community newspaper based in Bizana, Eastern Cape, Pondoland Times is dedicated to serving and engaging with our local community. Your internship with us presents a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience, hone your skills, and contribute to meaningful projects that make a real difference in the lives of our readers.

I want to acknowledge that due to the current circumstances, the first three months or most of the internship will be conducted remotely. However, rest assured that we are committed to providing you with a supportive and enriching learning experience, regardless of the setting. Our team will work closely with you to ensure that you have the resources and support needed to excel in your role.

To kick off your internship journey, we will be holding a virtual induction meeting via Google Meet or Zoom. The purpose of this meeting is to introduce ourselves, get to know each other, and establish expectations for our working relationship. During the meeting, we will discuss how we will collaborate, sign logbooks, determine the start date of your work, and outline the tasks expected in each week.

The induction meeting will take place at 9:00 am on Friday, May 3, 2024. Please use the following meeting link to join: Google Meet link here.

We are committed to your success and development during your internship. Our team is here to guide and mentor you every step of the way, ensuring that you not only achieve your learning objectives but also thrive in your role.

Once again, welcome to Pondoland Times! We are excited to have you on board and look forward to working together to create impactful stories and foster positive change in our community.

Please feel free to reach out to me or any member of our team if you have any questions or need assistance as you settle into your internship.

Best regards,
