The Eastern Cape’s Aruzabiz Project, led by emerging commercial farmer Ms Zoleka Dikana, received a major boost as the ECRDA–Sedfa Blended Finance Programme delivered a new set of high-impact farming machinery. The handover forms part of ongoing efforts to scale up her operations and increase production capacity.
What Happened
The Aruzabiz Project continues to grow into one of the province’s most promising farming ventures.
To strengthen the project’s commercial readiness, Ms Dikana received a new machinery package that includes:
- New Holland TD5.110 4WD tractor
- Trailor TT8000
- Disc FDH 16 (8×8)
- 600L 12m boom sprayer
- 3-furrow disc plough
- Dicla Slasher HD 1.5m
- Fieldking Rotary Tiller 104m
- Mini Ripper – 5 Tyne
- 3-furrow ridger
- Isuzu bakkie
The equipment is expected to improve land preparation, increase efficiency, and help her expand production.
Official Response
ECRDA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Ms Dikana’s transition into a strong commercial farmer through continued blended financing and technical support.
The agency stated that its backing aims to “unlock growth, visibility, and long-term commercial success” for the Aruzabiz Project.
Community Impact
The machinery upgrade positions Aruzabiz to grow output and create more sustainable opportunities within the local agricultural sector.
As production strengthens, Ms Dikana is expected to move closer to large-scale operations, contributing to food security and rural economic activity.
