The funeral service of the late Rev Mtutuzeli Ndlaku a retired Methodist Church of Southern Africa superintendent minister was set to take place on the 1st of June 2023 following his untimely death on the 17th of May 2023.
However, reports state that a court derby between the children of the deceased and his wife Mrs Nontsikelelo Ndlaku led to the postponement of the service.
Mrs Ndlaku won the court bid that permits her to be involved in all funeral arrangements, interdicting the children from continuing with the funeral arrangements. Thus far, Ndlaku’s body has been moved from Khwalo Funeral services to Inceba funeral services as per Mrs Ndlaku’s request, awaiting a burial that has not been confirmed yet.

It is alleged that the deceased had no Will and was married in community of property with Nontsikelelo Ndlaku. Even though they were in separation, the divorce was not finalized as yet.
His death comes as he was still awaiting trail on a rape case that was opened against him last year, which led to a major division in his family as many, except for his wife believed he was innocent even though the court had not handed judgement on the matter.
The Methodist church of Southern Africa issued a statement stating that they are bereaved that they cannot continue with the funeral service as planned and therefore cannot close the chapter of their beloved one.
