Ward 26 women’s month health day

Ward 26 women came out in numbers last week Friday to participate in 5km walk and healthy exercises. This initiative was organised by a ward councilor together with stakeholders such as Umzimvubu local municipality.

Ward 26 councillor Monwabisi Tuku says the purpose of this initiative is to encourage women to exercise to keep their body healthy all the time, as part of celebrating this important month it is important to alwys remind women to take care of their health.

Women came out in numbers to participate in this event and it beautiful to see young and old women together enjoying their moments just for a moment to distress and forget about their day to day stresse. – said Tuku

Sibongile Tshecwa, Cabazana resident says she had a great day even though the walk was long and tiring but she is is glad that she made to th finishing line. Zine Mankaku also says she is happy at how her body responded to the walk and the games they had, relay and rolling tires.

“You know from time to time it is important to go out meet new people, do sport to relax your body and mind, today it is one of those days that I feel my body very differently. I would like to encourage women to take care of their health more often” said Mankanku
