#Hike4Change is an initiative by @VoiceItInAction to create awareness on various societal ills, to create opportunities for people (young and old) and to ensure actual/real change through community participation while raising funds to continue this great work by Voice It In Action; through Monthly Hikes on selected dates.

The plan is simple… Collaborating with various entities (individuals, groups, organizations, businesses including government departments etc…) to achieve the objectives; hiking, raising funds and the quarter specific targets/objectives in South Africa (e.g. first quarter #NoMboboSchoolShoes). In other countries, members in those countries can support the objectives for South Africa or by ensuring similar drives in their countries based on the

#Hike4Change calendar.

Collaboration Options – (contact a representative near you for more information):

1.      Volunteer: (Volunteers run #Hike4Change activities at specific representative levels)

1. Required Representatives in South Africa:
   1. Provincial, Municipal and Ward/Police Station Precinct Representatives Requirement; must be South African Citizens
2. In other countries:
   1. National/Area Representatives and further developments according to the country’s governing structure/s. Requirement; must be Citizens from those countries

2.      Participate (NB: prices and monetary contributions are subject to change based on region/country):

1. Join a hike in your area [hiking options include hiking fee, refreshments (e.g. water, snack + energy bar) and contributions to #VoiceItInAction]:
   1. Hike and Go – R250 per hiker;
   2. Hike and Lunch – R350 per hiker;
2. OR as a Non-Hiker Contribute – R25 or R50 or more to support Voice It In Action
3. AND Contribute quarter specific item/s to your nearest representative (e.g. first quarter

#NoMboboSchoolShoes; contribution of school shoes), see #Hike4Change calendar details.

3.      Partner (a call to entities to collaborate to achieve objectives of #Hike4Change):

1. Groups, Businesses and Organisations running Hikes let’s work together;
   1. Entity’s contribution to #Hike4Change; g. requesting hikers to contribute R25 or R50 or more (registered entities can take this contribution as their CSI) + the quarter-specific items
   2. AND entities run their hike schedules in support of #Hike4Change by sharing their hike activities on various platforms by tagging @VoiceItInAction and #Hike4Change

• OR Aligning the entity’s calendar to the #Hike4Change calendar and by sharing their hike activities on various platforms by tagging @VoiceItInAction and #Hike4Change

1. Individuals, Businesses, Organisations and Government Departments at various levels let’s collaborate to fight against societal ills through #Hike4Change
   1. Inviting entity personnel to hikes and/or contributions of quarter-specific items or resources to achieve

#Hike4Change objectives or any other collaboration possibilities that can be discussed via a meeting with the representatives at various levels

The work done in the fight against Gender-Based Violence by Voice It In Action has revealed the multi-dimensional challenges (unemployment, poverty and inequality) within the second pandemic (Gender-Based Violence) which enabled us to work with various entities in South Africa and beyond South Africa’s geographical boundaries.

Voice In Action has National Footprints: with School visits in Limpopo, VIIA Stand Campaigns in North West and Free State, Talks in KZN communities, Talks and programs in the Eastern Cape, Awareness programs in the Western Cape and so much more)

It is clear that there is great potential and with the right partnerships and support, anything is possible. The work we do has the potential to continue changing and SAVING lives.
