Umzimvubu to Host Second Livestock Auction: A Boost for Local Farmers

Umzimvubu Local Municipality is set to host its second livestock auction, building on the success of the inaugural event. Scheduled for later this year, the auction aims to provide a crucial platform for local farmers and livestock owners to showcase and sell their high-quality animals, contributing to the region’s agricultural development and economic growth.

This initiative is part of the municipality’s ongoing efforts to support and empower local farmers, offering them a valuable opportunity to reach a wider market. By facilitating these auctions, Umzimvubu Local Municipality is not only enhancing the visibility of local livestock but also fostering a sense of community among farmers and buyers alike.

Registration for the event opened on August 15, 2024, with fees set at R55 per head of cattle and R50 for sheep and goats. Local farmers and livestock owners are encouraged to participate and take advantage of this opportunity to connect with potential buyers.

The event promises to be a day filled with excitement, networking, and growth for all involved. It will also serve as a significant step toward reinforcing the agricultural sector in the region.

We are thrilled to once again host this event, and we are committed to ensuring that it benefits our local farmers,” said a representative from Umzimvubu Local Municipality. “We look forward to seeing a great turnout and a successful day of auctioning.
