The Umzimvubu Local Municipality (ULM) received top recognition from the Eastern Cape Office of the Premier 05 Novemvber during the Eastern Cape Leadership Engagement held in East London. The municipality was among those honoured for achieving an Unqualified Audit Outcome with no findings for the 2023/2024 financial year.
What Happened
The Eastern Cape Leadership Engagement brought together municipal leaders and government officials to celebrate progress in good governance. The event focused on strengthening accountability, promoting transparency, and recognising institutions that demonstrate financial discipline.
Leading the Umzimvubu delegation, Mayor Zukiswa Ndevu attended alongside the municipality’s Chief Financial Officer and Senior Manager for Citizen and Community Services. Their presence underscored the administration’s hands-on approach to maintaining sound financial management and community-focused service delivery.
