The MKP has established itself as the Official Opposition in Parliament, with 121 Members of Parliament and Members of Provincial Legislatures in 7 of the 9 Provinces of South Africa.
Zuma emphasized that the MKP will continue to grow as a true liberation movement, fighting for total freedom from oppression and colonialism. The party has objected to the 2024 election results, citing electoral fraud, and has vowed to pursue the matter until every instance of fraud is exposed.
The MKP has announced its leadership collective, which includes:
- President: Jacob G Zuma
- Deputy President: Dr. John Hlophe
- Secretary General: Dr. Sifiso Maseko
- Deputy Secretary General: Nombuso Mkhize
- National Organiser: Nyiko Floyd Shivambu

The leadership collective will be responsible for establishing the MKP as a full organisation with structures and members in all Voting Districts, Wards, Sub Regions, Regions, and Provinces. The party aims to prepare for the 2026 and 2029 Elections and to fight for real economic transformation and redress of the imbalances of the past.
The MKP has also called for the unity and unification of all progressive political parties to fight against white minority rule in South Africa. Zuma emphasized that the party will work with Churches, Traditional and Royal Leaders, and will respect the rights of Traditional Healers.
The MKP remains committed to the Progressive Caucus in the National Parliament and all Provincial Legislatures, and will continue to engage with different Unions and Civil Society formations.
