The United Democratic Movement expresses its heartfelt condolences to the late anti-apartheid stalwart Aziz Pahad’s family, friends, and loved ones on his passing.
Another giant of the struggle has perished. After being banned by the apartheid government and going into exile, he played a massive role in developing the anti-apartheid movement in Europe.
Mr Pahad also played a very vital role in the secret discussions with the South African government that paved the way for the transition to a democratic South Africa. Upon his return he did his part as first foreign affairs deputy minister in the new democratic dispensation.
This nation is grateful for his contribution to the struggle and nation building.
The UDM extends its thoughts and prayers to the Pahad family, loved ones, and friends during this difficult time.
