Police in Mthatha have launched an urgent manhunt after three young men were gunned down in the early hours of Tuesday 2 July 2025 in Slovo Park.
The shooting occurred around 4:00 AM on Gate Street. When officers arrived, they discovered the lifeless bodies of three men, aged between 20 and 23. All had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
According to police, the first victim was shot twice in the head. The second was struck once in the head and three times in the body. The third suffered a fatal gunshot to the back of the head, with the bullet exiting through the front.
Authorities confirmed that one of the victims was known in the community. However, the motive behind the killings has not yet been established.
The scene was attended by forensic experts and other investigative units. A full investigation is currently underway.
