Inkonjane Community Radio is saddened by the passing of a Maskandi show Presenter, Zolani “Mzet” Mlamla. Mlamla was shot dead on Monday, 8 November 2021. According to the reports, Mzet as found on wrong place at wrong time as he met with the robbers at Mswakani Village in Lusikisiki.
Mlamla has been a temporary presenter at Inkonjane Community Radio will be hosting for more than 5 years as He presented Maskandi show exquisitely. Family members, Inkonjane Community Radio staff members and all those who know him,particularly Maskandi artists are still shocked and cannot believe that Mzet is no more. His colleague, who he worked with Mawenu “Khalantombi” Dube-Dube says he will always acknowledge his dedication to his work and a passion he had for radio.

He added that Mzet was not only a co-host but a close friend as they would travel together to and from work. He says,
“We would always work together even when we are off duty and that strengthened our friendship”.
Inkonjane FM Board of Directors Chaiperson, Nkosi Mwelo Nonkonyana, expressed his sadness on the Passing of Mlamla. He described Mzet as a very dedicated and passionate worker who respected his work.
“You would not even say he is a part -time presenter, judging from the way he loved his job”. He also sent his condolences to the Mlamla family
Inkonjane Community Radio programmes manager, Ncediwe Peza says Mlamla was a man who loved radio with all his heart. Expressing her sadness and shock after receiving these news she said,

Mzet was a man who had respect even though he was too older than many of us who are his leaders”.[/perfectpullquote]
Eastern Cape police are still investigating the murder. Police spokesperson, Brigadier Thembinkosi Kinana says no one has been arrested.
