On Wednesday, a female traffic officer was and killed in KwaDwesi, Gqeberha. In a report released by police, it is believed that there were three traffic officers on the road two females and one male officer. Four unknown men approached two traffic officers while the deceased was still in the car and forcefully demanded guns.
The deceased noticed that her colleagues are in danger and tried to respond by taking out her gun, unfortunately, the suspects saw her and started firing at the female traffic officer and she died instantly. After shooting her the suspects took her gun as well and flee from the scene.
Minister of Transport, Community and Safety Xolile Nqatha, expressed his sadness by the death of the traffic officer.
Nqatha said, “The attacks and killings of government officials while on duty is disturbing, what is worse in this incident is that the robbers took guns that belong to the state.”
Minister Nqatha appealed to the public to cooperate with the Police and catch the criminals before they do a similar incident.
