afast-paced afternoon of horse racing lit up Bomela Horse Racing Ground in Dutywa on 26 October 2025 as riders battled for big cash prizes in the annual Ngumbela Legacy event. The race attracted fans from nearby towns, while competitors showcased regional talent.
What Happened?
The atmosphere fired up early. Dust swirled as 104 horses — including Xhosa trotters, Xhosa gallopers and thoroughbreds — sprinted through multiple divisions.
The headline division, Wafa-Wafa, delivered explosive finishes. Crowds cheered every stride as favourites pushed for victory.
