In Celebrating the spirit of Easter, the Wild Coast Sun together with the Co-owner of Debonairs, Steers, Fisher-ways Mr Ronaldo Mayer and Hon Mayor Mafumbatha visited UMz’ukvukile special centre in ward 20 (old Ethridge school,Redoubt) on the 18th Easter Monday.

The General Manager Mr Peter Tshidi said they were at the casino celebrating Easter and they saw a lot of privileged kids with their parents going around enjoying the Easter egg hunt,and all the lovely things that Easter has to offer. It hung to them that there must be a child who is not privileged to that kind of experience and they also deserve it. They reached out to their local business partner Mr Ronaldo Mayor co-owner of Debonairs. Mr Mayer was more than happy to support the cause.

The wild coast Sun, Mr Ronaldo Mayer who is also the former ward councillor of ward 24, and the Hon Mayor Mafumbatha visited the Umz’uvukile Special Centre in ward 20, to donate Easter Eggs, Debonairs Pizza and other nice things to bring the spirit of Easter to under-privileged children who are also physically challenged.

Mr Mayer said helping the needy is something very close to his heart in so much that he has a campaign starting in May, the campaign will donate Pizza bread to orphanages and Umz’uvukile Special Centre is one of the places they will prioritize. Local ward councillor (Ward 20), Ms Sanele Nomvalo was also present and chaired the briefing meeting leading the community from the front.

Hon Mayor Mafumbatha from Winnie Madikizela Mandela Local Municipality said: they have noted the challenges of the centre and they are aware that to take care of children with special needs requires a lot of mental strength, as the office other Mayor they encourage the care-givers to stay strong and continue doing the good work.

Umz’uvukile special centre, was established by Enkosi Jarha in February 2021 the centre caters for children with special needs, it currently survives through donations and volunteering care-givers. The Wild Coast Sun, Mr Ronaldo Mayer and the office of the Mayor noted down the challenges of the centre and promised to assist where they can, after carefully deliberating and maybe come up with a solution to the challenges.

The children of Umz’uvukile special centre were stunned with joy when the saw the cake, pizza and the nice things that were brought to them.
