Rosemary, found guilty in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court of killing six of her relatives, convicted of attempted murder, defeating the ends of justice and defrauding insurance companies of approximately R1.4 million.
The former police officer Nomia Rosemary Ndlovu was found guilty on six counts of murder by Judge Ramarumo Monama at the Johannesburg high court, on the 22 of October 2021 (Friday afternoon) after pleading not guilty the court has dismissed the defendants dispute, stating that the state has proven beyond reasonable doubt that the accused orchestrated the murder of her six relatives.
She was charged with six counts of murder, four counts of fraud, obstruction of justice, and eight counts of conspiracy to commit murder. When delivering the Judgement Monama mentioned that Ndlovu showed no regret on murdering five of her relatives and her boyfriend and she showed arrogance when the Judgement was being delivered.
The judge said Ndlovu was always the first or the last to be in the company of the victims and was a beneficiary of their insurance policies, which all had accidental death cover.
The NPA’s Phindi Mjonodwane said: “As the NPA, we really need to give credit to the prosecutor as well as the investigating officer in the splendid job that they did.”
Proceeding of the presentencing are expected to begin on the 5th of November.
