After many criticisms the Economic Freedom Fighters has finally taken a decision to change its Eastern Cape Top Five “males only” leadership and has added females on it.

The Eff war council has concluded that the females who contested the positions of provincial deputy chairperson, Fighter Nokuthula Mlokothi and Deputy secretary, Fighter Zikhona Njoli will now assume the roles, whilst the fighters who were elected remain as members of the PCT.

Social media was buzzing last week following the election of the EFF Top five leadership in the Eastern Cape which was consist of men only. With many people stating that there should be gender equality in leadership roles.

Economic Freedom Fighter’s president Julius Malema expressed disappointment in his party stating that they should have given women a fair chance in leadership positions.

“The EFF listens to the people and it wants to reflect on what it wants to achieve in the country. We are constantly practising what we would do if we were to govern. The party is inspired by countries that prioritise women in leadership roles, “said Simthembile Madikizela, the newly elected EFF provincial secretary in EC.

The Economic Freedom Fighter’s Provincial Command Team is further comprised of 20 additional members, dominated by females.
