On the 4th of October, the Team Eastern Cape delivered an outstanding performance at the South African Schools Athletics Cross Country Championships held at Rob Ferreira High School grounds in Mpumalanga. The provincial team scooped second place overall, winning four group gold medals and four individual golds in a competition featuring runners aged 11 to 16 years.

The championships featured 4 km and 6 km races, with participants showcasing skill, endurance, and teamwork.
