TAVERN OWNER ARRESTED FOR POSSESION OF DRUGS IN SWEETWATERS NEAR ZWELITSHA

Police officers have arrested a male suspect after finding drugs in his home. The suspect is believed to be a tavern owner. The suspect was arrested on Monday, 22 August 2022.

According to the media statement released by the Office of the Provincial Commissioner: Eastern Cape, on 23 August 2022, state that about fourteen (14) packages of two types of drugs were found in his home.

“Ten (10) sachets of tik and four (4) full boss mandrax were confiscated from his house”

The statement release states that the 43- year old male suspect is expected to appear in the King Williams Town Magistrate Court for charges relating to possession of drugs once charged.

Residents of Sweetwaters, or anyone with information that will assist with the investigation is urged to report to the nearest police station. A crime stop number is also available to contact in order to share information (08600 10111).
