Minister Nomakhosazana Meth Celebrates Heritage Month with Ntabakhulu Community By Esihle Xolo On September 20, 2024, Minister of Employment and Labour Nomakhosazana Meth joined the Ntabakhulu community to celebrate Heritage Month. The event, organized by the Nowalala Traditional Authority, brought together various government departments and stakeholders to provide essential services. Despite the icy cold weather, community members eagerly participated, receiving assistance from the Department of Employment and Labour and the Eastern Cape Department of Health. Key services included: - 1-JI F payments totaling R39,142.86 for 14 clients - Registration of 51 work seekers on the Employment Services of South Africa database - Assistance for 23 ex-mineworkers - Career counseling for 51 individuals - Health screenings and services from the Eastern Cape Department of Health Minister Meth expressed gratitude to the community and thanked stakeholders, including the Nowalala Traditional Authority and the Eastern Cape Department of Health, for their collaboration. “This successful event demonstrates our commitment to serving the people, particularly in rural areas,” she said. The Initiative is part of the Department’s “DEL Friday” (Yazini – Know Your Ministry) program, aimed at bringing government services to remote communities. Minister Meth acknowledged the power of community partnerships, saying, “You are the village it takes to raise a child.”
