A media statement from the ANC FC Caucus reported that Cadre Sifuba is dealing with the matter legally and advise the public to refrain from circulating the video.

“Cadre Sifuba has henceforth indicated to have opened a civil claim and as a result advises all to respect her decision in dealing with this matter. The ANC Caucus wish to state that it has full confidence in Cadre Zanele and supports her in what seems to be an attack to her integrity”, stated the media statement.

Melusi Xulu from Donda Attorneys says according to the constitution it is illegal to share private images or videos or someone without their consent.

Sharing intimate pictures without consent will land you in jail. Xulu says a harsh punishment will be faced, this includes a fine that amounts to R150 000 or two-year imprisonment.

“Zanele Sifuba’s dignity was violated. It is unfortunate the video was received by a wrong person, who saw a tool to use against her”, said tweep.
