South Africans took to Twitter to share their grievances on the current pandemic faced by the country. Eskom being the reason why citizens are angered by the devastating stages implemented by Eskom on a daily and how it has been an inconvenience in their lives.

The immense damage loadshedding stages have caused has not only affected South Africans but businesses and the operations of hospitals too. Some hospitals aren’t able to provide certain services due to loadshedding leaving patients at health risk.

#FedupWithLoadshedding has been one of the top trending topics today. Tweeps stated that Eskom has failed them and that loadshedding continues to negatively affect them and their families.

Like this is not life, we have family members that drink medication, how can they drink their medication in a dark room? We have older parents who want to be kept warm…Hayi no! –  read one tweet.

This is the first ‘normal’ festive season post-Covid-19 and the national lockdown where South Africans should be making money and enjoying their holidays with their families. As unfortunate as it loadshedding has become another setback for businesses to recover from the previous years (Coronavirus outbreak).

In the judgment of the tweets on the topic at hand, South Africans seem to have been failed by Eskom and the government.

“The ANC has failed to do their jobs and need to be removed from office before we have total grid collapse. Enough is enough. We wake up and go to bed with no power that we pay for and pay tax money to a government elected to perform this service” tweeted @BrownRasta1

How has loadshedding affected you?
