VICTIMS OF NDWEDWE MASS SHOOTING LAID TO REST

According to Police Spokesperson Captain Hazel Mqala, six people have been arrested following a fatal mob justice attack in the Amalinda Forest informal settlement in Cambridge, East London.

Captain Mqala says on the 23rd of December 2022, a woman was informed by a family member that her 39-year-old son was being assaulted and set alight.

She says when the mother arrived at the crime scene, she allegedly saw several community members assaulting her son, but she was unable to stop them.

It is believed that the man was severely injured and was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries 24 hours later.

Captain Mqala says the mother was able to identify some of the suspects which led to the arrests of six suspects, consisting of both men and women. The suspects will appear in the local Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of murder and possession of suspected stolen property.
