“Sinenkani FC has received the verdict of the Disciplinary Committee (DC) hearing that sat on February 16, 2025, and it’s not in our favor,” according to a press statement issued by the club on Facebook.

The club has been found guilty of the charges laid against them and has been handed a hefty fine and other penalties. “The verdict instructs that Sinenkani FC is being ordered to pay R20,000.00, play their next two games behind closed doors, and cover the costs of the DC,” the statement read.

However, in a separate communication, the South African Football Association (SAFA) Eastern Cape has informed the club that the ban on their games has been lifted, and they are expected to honor their fixtures as per the online ABC Motsepe League fixtures.

The club has expressed strong reservations about the verdict, claiming that the rules of natural justice were not applied, and they were not given an opportunity to present their side of the story. “It should be on record that we feel strongly that the rules of natural justice (in particular Audi Alteram Partem) have not been applied, in that we were never given an opportunity to present our side of the story,” the statement said.

Despite the setbacks, Sinenkani FC has urged its supporters to remain calm and focused on their goals. “We urge our supporters to remain calm and focused on the promised land rather than any distractions from any external forces,” the statement concluded.

The club has also announced that the two closed-door games will be streamed live on their Facebook page and on Khiwa Media social media platforms.
