The Stubborn Army went into the Nedbank Cup against Glad Africa Championship side, Free State Stars FC as underdogs after they qualified for the competition by winning the game, Eastern Cape ABC Motsepe League spot.
The two teams were in separable in regular play time after the Bizana outfit managed to hold their own against the team from the Free State and the game ended without a single goal. Sinenkani FC proved to be a tough nut to crack for Free State Stars during extra time as well.
The game had to be settled through a grueling penalty shoot out that went to ten spots kick as either side showed great intent to win the game but it was the home side that had the last laugh as  as they booked a sport in the last 16 after winning 10 – 9 in the penalty shootout to become the first team from Bizana to make it to that stage of the competition.
The Stubborn Army are now waiting to find out who their next opponents will be as they seek to continue their quest to go as far as they can in the illustrious cup competition.
