The momentous night Sibapiwe Hadebe has been working towards all year has finally come: the 2024 Mrs South Africa Top 30 finalists have been chosen, with Sibapiwe Hadebe receiving her sash under the bright lights of the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace last Friday night, 05 July 2024.
Raised in Nxarhabe village in Flagstaff, Eastern Cape, Hadebe has spent the past 21 years in Pietermaritzburg where she pursued a degree in Computer Science & Information Technology and a career as an IT Audit Manager. Despite her busy schedule, she enjoys morning runs and part-time fashion modeling.
“Modeling has always been part of my life since I was three years old. Eighteen years ago, I pressed the ‘pause’ button on this due to life challenges. I was motivated to audition for Mrs South Africa this year because I want to relive my life, while making an impact in my community by reducing rejection rates at higher institutions due to incorrect subject choices,” Hadebe explains.
Mrs South Africa is foremost an empowerment program aimed at transforming married women aged 25 to 55 into powerful leaders and forces for positive change. The pageant fosters a supportive environment where contestants work together, learn from one another, find support, and grow their personal and professional networks.
Reflecting on her experience with the Mrs South Africa sisterhood, Hadebe says, “I have made many friendships, which makes it easier to support our sisters, especially with their businesses. I even participated in fitness challenges through a sister who runs this program. Using my sister’s sponsors when I needed services goes a long way in solidifying these relationships. I even noticed how I became a reliable source of information for the execution of Mrs SA tasks through the sweetest conversations held with my sisters.”
Joani Jacobs, CEO of Mrs South Africa, notes that the program received a record number of applicants in 2024, making the competition fiercer than ever.
“The judges faced a really difficult task in selecting the winners from such a strong group of contestants, and this year’s Top 30 represents some of South Africa’s most incredible, inspirational women. We’ve been so proud to walk this journey beside them as they’ve pushed themselves to break through their limiting beliefs and discover just what they’re capable of,” she says.
“They’ve taken to each challenge laid before them with ease, and they truly embody the spirit of strength, positivity, and grace that define Mrs South Africa. We look forward to watching them take the final steps in their self-development journey and making their mark as formidable female leaders and social advocates.”
Mrs South Africa is made possible by support from its gracious sponsors: Chery Krugersdorp, Skin Renewal, Hirsch’s Homestore, PR Worx, Brentoni Eyewear, BTL Aesthetics, Slimz, Protein Feed Haircare, PKF Octagon, iStyle, Espavo Hair Design, Action Coach, Kryolan Professional Makeup, Flora Mystique, Collagen Lift Paris, Lashout by Monise Beauty, Whirlpool, Wild Coast Sun, Caribbean Tan, IME, Bio Sculpture, Dyson, and Clearwater Mall.
As Sibapiwe Hadebe embarks on this new chapter, she stands as a beacon of hope and inspiration for many young girls in rural areas, demonstrating that dreams can indeed come true with hard work, dedication, and a supportive community.
