An incident took place at Westpark Drive, Montgomery Park, Randburg, as the driver of this minibus taxi was found drunk. Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department responded to this serious matter as the parents are now starting to get concerned about the safety of their children on the road.
A white minibus Toyota Quantum, which operates as a school transport, was trying to overtake another vehicle on the road when the driver lost control, collision occurred.
Twelve (12) were part of this horrible collusion; they got injured and were being rushed to the nearest hospital to receive medical treatment.
It is suspected that the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol, and he was arrested and will be kept at Sophiatown SAPS. He’s facing charges of reckless and negligent driving, as well as driving under the influence of alcohol.
His first appearance at court is not yet stated, but the community needs assurance for the safety of their children.
