SATVETSA, in partnership with the Department, successfully hosted a Student-Driven Academic Conference from 12 to 14 December. The event took place at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg and brought together student leaders and sector partners.
What the Conference Addressed
The three-day conference created space for meaningful engagement on issues affecting the TVET sector. Students, stakeholders, and partners shared insights on leadership, academic development, and student support.
Discussions focused on strengthening the student voice within post-school education. Participants also explored ways to improve academic excellence and student representation.
Student Commissions and Resolutions
At the conclusion of the conference, student leaders formed commissions. These groups allowed for deeper discussion and reflection on key sector challenges.
Each commission developed resolutions aimed at guiding future engagement and advocacy. These outcomes will inform ongoing dialogue within the TVET sector.
Acknowledgement of Contributions
The Department thanked all speakers, stakeholders, and partners for their participation. Officials said collaboration played a key role in the conference’s success.
Student leaders were also praised for their commitment and leadership. Their contributions continue to strengthen cooperation and advance student interests across the sector.
