Thousands of South Africans depend on the R370 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, and knowing when your payment will arrive is critical. The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) releases payment dates each month, but they vary depending on your approval status and banking details.

If you’re approved for the R370 SRD grant in 2025, here’s how to check your status and what to expect.

How to Check Your SASSA SRD Status (2025)

To see if your payment has been approved or delayed:

  1. Visit srd.sassa.gov.za
  2. Click on “Check SASSA SRD Status”
  3. Enter your South African ID number and cellphone number used during registration

Your current status will show one of the following:

  • Pending: Still under review
  • Approved: Your application was successful
  • Approved with no pay date: Awaiting processing
  • Paid: Payment has been sent
  • Declined: You may appeal this via the same portal

R370 SRD Payment Dates for 2025 (Estimated)

Based on previous years, here’s a general timeline of what to expect monthly:

  • Older Persons Grants: 1st week of each month (e.g., 2–4 January)
  • Disability Grants: 1–2 days after older persons grants
  • Child Support Grants: Mid to late 1st week
  • R370 SRD Grant: Usually from the 20th–30th of each month (processed in batches)

For example, July 2025 SRD payments are expected to be processed between 26–31 July 2025.

What to Do If Your SASSA Status Is Approved But No Pay Date

This is a common issue. Here’s how to handle it:

  • Wait at least 5 working days – payments are processed in batches
  • Avoid switching banks mid-cycle
  • Make sure your account is active and registered under your ID
  • If still unpaid, call SASSA at 0800 60 10 11

Tips to Avoid Delays

  • Update your banking details and cellphone number on the SRD portal
  • Appeal declined applications within 30 days
  • Don’t rely only on SMS — check the status manually
