On 15 September 2025, SASSA KwaZulu-Natal has joined the launch of the 2025 Thusong Service Centre Week at Nyembe Sports Field near Biyela Thusong Service Centre in Eshowe. The programme brings social grant services and beneficiary education directly to communities, reducing the need for residents to travel long distances for help.

What Happened

The event, led by the Minister of Public Service and Administration Inkosi Mzamo Buthelezi, emphasized the importance of people-centred service delivery. The Minister delivered a keynote address, stressing that government must reach communities where they are, rather than expecting them to navigate complex systems alone.
