The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced the March 2025 payment dates for social grant recipients in Pretoria. To ensure seamless access to their payments, beneficiaries are urged to replace their SASSA Gold Cards with the new Postbank Black Cards before the February 28, 2025 deadline.

The March payment dates are as follows:

  • Older Person’s Grant: Tuesday, March 4
  • Disability Grant: Wednesday, March 5
  • Children’s Grant: Thursday, March 6

Beneficiaries who fail to get Postbank Black Cards before the deadline will not be able to access their SASSA grant payments with the SASSA Gold Cards. The SASSA Gold Cards will be blocked for all transactions, including withdrawals, balance inquiries, and retail purchases.

To get the new Postbank Black Cards, beneficiaries only need to have a valid South African ID or a temporary ID. The replacement process is free of charge, and the new cards can be collected at various retailers, including Shoprite, Checkers, Usave, Boxer, and Pick n Pay stores.

The new Postbank Black Cards offer updated safety and card features, and beneficiaries will continue to enjoy the same benefits as before, including:

  • One free card replacement per year
  • 3 free withdrawals in stores per month
  • 1 free monthly statement over the counter

For any further queries, beneficiaries can contact SASSA directly through their toll-free call centre, email, or visit their website.
