The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has officially announced that COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant payments for July 2025 will be processed from 25 to 31 July.
This applies to beneficiaries who have been approved for the R370 monthly grant. SASSA urges clients to regularly check their payment status on the SRD website to confirm the exact date funds will appear in their bank accounts.
Why some are approved but not yet paid?
According to SASSA’s latest notice, if you’re approved but haven’t received payment, it may be because:
- Your banking details are missing or incorrect,
- Your account is still undergoing verification,
- Or you are in a referred status.
What to do if you haven’t been paid:
- Visit the SRD website and update your banking details under “Applications”.
- Use the self-service status checker to follow up.
- Once verified, your payment will be included in the next cycle.
If your payment date has passed but no money is in your account, SASSA advises contacting their call centre at 0800 601 011, as this could indicate a bank issue or a reversal.
As always, SASSA reminds the public: “Paying the right social grant, to the right person, at the right time and place. NJALO!”
