The operation, conducted on 11 August 2025, targeted criminal networks involved in illicit mining operations in the area.
Police confiscated water pumps, spades, pick-axes, and bags of sand believed to have been used in illegal mining activities.
Authorities said the arrests form part of ongoing efforts to disrupt illegal mining syndicates, which pose serious safety, environmental, and economic risks.
The suspects are expected to appear in court soon, facing charges related to illegal mining and contravention of immigration laws.
