The South African Police Service (SAPS) proved their fitness and determination at the National Road Cycling Championships held at the Cradle of Humankind in KrugersdorpOn 5 November 2025 . Officers from across the country competed for top honors in 2025 challenging cycling events.
What Happened
The championship included a 7km Prologue and a 65km Long Race at the Cradle of Humankind. A total of 40 SAPS cyclists, including active officers and retired members.
Warrant Officer O’Reilly from the Eastern Cape won the Men’s category, while Colonel Niemand from Head Office led the Ladies’ race. Their victories emphasized SAPS’s strong focus on fitness, teamwork, and discipline.

A SAPS Sports Coordinator congratulated the cyclists for their discipline and effort.
“Our members continue to make us proud, both in uniform and on the track. Their endurance and teamwork show what it means to serve with strength,” the coordinator said.
