Premier of the Eastern Cape Mabuyane has congratulated South African goalkeeper Ronwen Williams on his achievement of winning prestigious CAF Awards in Morocco. Williams, a native of the Eastern Cape, received the titles of African Goalkeeper of the Year and CAF 2024 Interclub Player of the Year.
In addition to these accolades, Williams was recently ranked as the ninth-best goalkeeper in the world at this year’s Ballon d’Or in October, marking him as the first South African player to earn a nomination for this esteemed honor.
