Postbank is optimistic about hitting the 1 million mark of grant beneficiaries migrating from the SASSA gold card to the Postbank black card within the next week. According to Postbank CEO, Nikki Mbengashe, the number of beneficiaries making the switch is steadily increasing.
As of now, over 900,000 cards have been issued since Monday, with Mbengashe expressing confidence that this number will surpass the 1 million mark by the end of this week or early next week. This milestone is crucial for Postbank, as nearly three million beneficiaries are required to migrate from Sassa to Postbank.
Senior officials from Postbank are currently updating Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Social Development on the progress of the migration process. The switch to the Postbank black card is essential for beneficiaries to continue receiving their grants without disruptions. The new card features biometric authentication and enhanced encryption, offering improved security and faster access to payments.
