Police have launched a manhunt for a 42-year-old suspect following a double murder in Ngobozana Administrative Area, Eastern Cape, in the early hours of Tuesday, 5 August 2025.
According to initial reports, the suspect allegedly shot and killed his 22-year-old ex-girlfriend at a tavern in Chithwayo locality between 01:00 and 01:30. Shortly after, he is believed to have driven to his home in Unity Park, where he fatally shot his 49-year-old wife while she was asleep.
The suspect fled the scene in the family’s vehicle, which was later found abandoned. No arrests have been made at this stage.
Police are investigating two murder cases and have urged the public to assist in locating the suspect. The motive for the killings remains unknown. Police investigations are ongoing.
