Police are investigating five counts of murder following the discovery of five men’s bodies with gunshot wounds in a shack at the Chris Hani informal settlement in New Brighton.
The incident reportedly occurred around 21:30 on the evening of 22 October, when New Brighton police responded to a shooting complaint. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found five men, all with multiple gunshot wounds. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are currently under investigation.
The identities of the deceased are being withheld until a formal identification process is completed.
