Following the eruption of taxi violence in Port St Johns yesterday, law enforcement authorities have swiftly responded, resulting in the arrest of a total of eleven suspects. The individuals are currently detained on charges ranging from murder and attempted murder to malicious damage to property, discharging firearms in a built-up municipality area, and public violence. They are scheduled to appear in the Port St Johns Magistrate’s Court in the coming days.
In a coordinated effort, police officials managed to recover a cache of weapons, including 15 firearms comprising pistols, AK 47’s, shotguns, and rifles. Additionally, 328 rounds of ammunition were confiscated, contributing to efforts to quell the violence that gripped the community.

As a crucial step toward resolution, the Honorable Mayor held a final meeting this evening.
